I have more than 35 years of successful experience in therapy and counseling and I realize that taking the first step toward getting help is often the most difficult.

I provide individual, couple's and family therapy to children, adolescents, adults and families experiencing emotional, behavioral, and/or social difficulties. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Registered Play Therapist and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist with more than ten years of experience. I co-founded Sunshine State Counseling Center. In my practice, I empower individuals to build and develop their inner strengths by providing compassionate, ethical and professional therapeutic services.

For over 30 years I have helped individuals, couples and famlies in Miami, and more recently in Bonita Springs, Naples and Estero. Increasing safety while restoring connection and full aliveness to relationships is my goal when working with couples and families. I am a Clinical Member of the American Association of Marriage & Family Therapists, and a Certified Imago Relationship Therapist, using methods conceived by Harville Hendrix (author of "Getting The Love You Want"). I am also trained in the Gottman method of couples therapy, and am experienced in addressing conflict and crisis situations for couples.

My practice focuses on the well being of my clients. I provide mental health services for children to adults. My passion is to serve families in the community in need of mental health counseling. I am experience in child play therapy, family therapy, marriage/couples counseling, adolescent,, individual and substance abuse counseling. I provide treatment for anxiety, depression, grief and behavioral therapy. I am fluent in English and Spanish. I look forward to serving you.

In my experience adults and couples are often surprised at how empowering it can be to begin counseling. From our first session I will support you in identifying your strengths, areas of need, and setting goals toward positive change. Sunshine State Counseling Center provides therapeutic behavioral and mental health services to children, adolescent, adults, couples and families. Significant life events can cause stress that might lead to emotional and/or behavioral problems. When these changes are noticed it is helpful to have a professional assess the biological psychological and social functioning of the individual. These assessments are completed with the purpose of identifying present strengths and needs, and together draw a road map to achieve a higher level of functioning.

I have been a Licensed Clinical Psychologist for 25 years. I have worked with people who experience trauma, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, addiction, personality disorders, to name just a few. I work with adolescents and adults. I provide individual, marriage/pre-marital, family and group counseling. Therefore, I believe that I can offer a broad range of counseling training and experience.

Through diagnostic evaluations and support/therapy services for children, teens, and adults, I enjoy helping clients explore their unique way of processing the world and develop plans to overcome challenges and achieve their goals. Specialty areas neurodivergent profiles including Specific Learning Disorders (Dyslexia; Dyscalculia; Dysgraphia), Autism (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), anxiety/mood disorders, developmental delays, intellectual impairments, giftedness, and executive functioning challenges. I also provide psychoeducational evaluations for 504 plans & College Board exam accommodations (AP/SAT/ACT).

I work with individuals from adolescence through adulthood, and specialize in Health Psychology. I am most concerned with the psychological, behavioral, and cultural factors that contribute to health and wellness. I have been in private practice since 2014 and completed training in EMDR in 2016. Treating physical and emotional trauma is my primary focus, specifically in first responder populations.
