I work with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues including personal growth, depression, grief, unresolved childhood issues, stress management, life transitions, relationship troubles, and family concerns.
Feeling stuck, helpless, or hopeless? I love to help people uncover and utilize their strengths to be able to tackle the emotional challenges they are facing. There is an absolute benefit of feeling heard and assessing what needs to be changed to get out of the discomfort one is experiencing. I have a solution-focused and holistic approach to the therapeutic process that incorporates physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects. My goal in working with clients is for them to feel understood and accepted while they become empowered to change and shift into a healthier approach to themselves and the world.

Are you experiencing relationship/family problems? Are you tired of experiencing the same pain over and over? Using an integrated solution focused approach, individuals and families will gain resources for healing and growth. Working together we can uncover your true purpose while addressing current stressors, past trauma, and future goals. While we can't change difficult past situations, we can better understand and resolve challenges negatively affecting our current situation.

My areas of specialties include mood and anxiety disorder, eating disorders, and I have a background in domestic violence and family abuse treatment.
Therapy is a journey and lived experience. The connection, empowerment, and shifts I get to be apart of are what keep me motivated and striving to be the therapist that I am. My hope is to empower clients through connection and collaboration and I feel honored to be invited on your journey. In my free time, I practice self-care through my own therapeutic journey, I enjoy playing and watching hockey, I enjoy hiking in the Foothills, I take my dog “Bella" to her favorite places, and spend time with my closest friends and family. Should you invite me on your journey, I hope to help you to reach your therapeutic goals.

We all need someone, sometime and for some reason. Looking for a therapist can be overwhelming at times and it may also provide a sense of ease since you are taking the first step in making the changes you want to see in your life. Struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, caregiver burnout, or experiencing chronic illness within the family, I want you to know I am here to help support you. In our work together we will explore the obstacles, challenges, and triumphs in your life and learn how they inform who you are today. Then we will focus on your strengths as a foundation towards growth using a holistic approach.

In my previous career, I was an SVP in an international company and know first-hand the stress/pressure of career, family and individual mental and emotional health.
I am pro-marriage. I work with couples, families and individuals on relationship issues, unresolved trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions. Something in your relationships isn't working. It might be your experience as a parent, a partner, an employee/boss or maybe a lack of meaningful relationships. Perhaps you are at war within yourself battling negative thoughts, anxiety, depression, traumatic memories, apathy, low self-esteem, overwhelming emotion or any number of addictions/bad habits that deeply affect your quality of life. It's not for lack of effort, but you are ready for support to live your best life. We should talk.

Are you ready to make a change? I'm not your average therapist. I will not just tell you what you want to hear, I will help and challenge you to overcome the barriers that have to this point prevented you from leading a happy, fulfilled life. I have a direct, “no b.s.” approach that differs from many therapists. Consider the times in your life you've made positive changes - how did you do it? How did mentors, teachers, coaches help you get there? If you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and do the work - I’m your guy.

I love working with individuals who are eager to find a deeper connection to self and others. Many people who decide to start therapy feel ambivalent about the process, and may feel uncertain about change in general. That is okay. They may not be ready for change and may be coming to therapy in order to first find that motivation for change. They may be highly emotionally sensitive, but have never felt understood in their sensitivity. They want to feel heard, seen, understood because these are some of our innate human needs.

Family Therapy

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
