I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and an Addictions Counselor with almost 24 years of experience. I have worked in a variety of settings, such as substance abuse facilities, mental health hospitals, manage care companies, and private practice.

My greatest strength as a practitioner is my understanding of the human experience. I understand the uniqueness of the client/practitioner relationship, while recognizing the importance of seeing the client as a human first. I like to give my client as much autonomy as possible throughout the course of their treatment. I understand that most things in life are beyond our control, and I feel it’s important for clients who are experiencing some form of distress to feel they have some degree of control in their life.

Life is a GIFT. I believe in this life, we all have special assignments. It is with honor, gratitude, and appreciation that I have accepted my assignment of helping others via Nursing and Counseling. With the world in such chaos, it is a challenge to navigate our spiritual, physical, and emotional health and wholeness. It is my aim to connect with my clients at the point of their hurt. Clients are usually hurting or struggling with childhood emotional trauma, grief (loss of a loved one, a relationship, or loss of themselves), depression, overwhelming life events, anxiety, or self-esteem issues.

The first step begins with acknowledging the way you feel and becoming aware that your voice is the most important part of this process to heal, grow and change. My practice helps individuals (children, adults, seniors), couples & families handle unhealthy family dynamics, communication issues, stress, depression, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem challenges, ADHD, stages of life development struggles. I believe that in order for individuals to experience an extraordinary life (a life filled with peace, love, joy, and purpose) they must learn how to heal, protect, and strengthen all three parts of themselves - the soul (mind, will, & emotions), the body, and the spirit. I incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy with Christian, biblical principles to address a complexity of issues within an individual, family, couple, or group that may be preventing them from experiencing physical, mental, and spiritual wholeness. Also, my husband, Adewale Disu, a Certified Life Coach, provides life coaching services to men.

I have worked with people of all ages ranging from children to the elderly, with more focus devoted to those in their late teen s - mid - life stages . I specialize in working with anxiety, anger management, ADHD, stress management, improving relationships and communication, navigating life transitions, and parenting challenges. I have considerable experience supporting LGBTQIA individuals and helping them to navigate the challenges they may encounter with family, friends, or community. I also have worked extensively with parents on navigating challenging childhood behaviors and teenage puberty.
