I received my M.A. in School Counseling from The George Washington University in 2011 and gained my credentials for private counseling in Virginia in 2016. I am currently in my 3rd year of education as a PhD student in Counselor Education and Supervision from The University of the Cumberlands. I am a licensed clinical psychologist with expertise in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), pediatric psychology, and family therapy. I work with children and families on a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, attention disorders/executive dysfunction, stress, coping with medical illness, learning disabilities, neuropsychological challenges, and developmental issues. I specialize in working with kids, teens, and families who have been impacted by chronic or terminal illness, or the loss of a loved one. Throughout my ten years’ experience working in a medical setting, I’ve seen firsthand the importance of expressing difficult experiences through art. Often, the deep, painful feelings of grief can’t be expressed through words. In art therapy, we don’t need words.

Katherine has had comprehensive experience and is specialized in working with Critical Incidence Stress Management (CISM), trauma, traumatic loss and grief and suicide prevention. Katherine has completed the Center for Deployment Psychology civilian behavior health training and provides psychotherapy services to war fighters, first responders and their families to assist with resiliency skills and reintegration post-deployment. Katherine is dedicated to working with those with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and moral injury.
