I use evidenced based practices such as Integrative and Systemic Psychology, Cognitive Behavioral, Family Systems, Emotion Focused, Mindfulness, and Mind-Body practices that are action oriented and according to your specific needs.
Have you experienced an event in your life that brings repeated negative thoughts and feelings? Do you feel stuck in life or in your relationships? Do you feel like you're just going through the motions? If you answered yes to any of these questions then you're in the right place. A good therapist is like a mirror that helps you see parts of yourself and others that you may not see on your own and for over 25 years I have worked with people to help them to make the changes needed for happiness and the life they deserve.

Counseling is more than telling your story. It is a dynamic process we engage in together, compassionately and diligently. It couples personal exploration with education. Having completed the level 1 training for Internal Family Systems I create a safe space for all parts of self to be present in the room. All parts are welcomed and honored as an intricate part of creating who we are. I also utilize an active Sensorimotor and trauma informed approach to help you re-establish emotional and relational balance. Whatever struggle you are facing: depression, anxiety, addiction, troubled relationships, the therapeutic process can help.

What brings each person to therapy is unique. When you are looking to process or work through a change in your life, it is important to feel a sense of comfort and confidence in a clinician. Grief, loss, family changes, professional changes, relationship challenges, feelings of depression or anxiety are some examples of what might be behind your interest in beginning therapy. It is courageous to take this first step. I will support your individual process in a personalized way, honoring your feelings and journey with unconditional support. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I believe that all couples and individuals should take the time to nurture themselves and their relationships. When couples get stuck in the same interaction cycle, the pattern must be broken. I enjoy helping couples to decode their messages to each other, repair bonds, increase security, and their rebuild connection with healthy interaction patterns. Also, as a Certified Grief Counselor I also enjoy helping individuals walk through their grief journey. Grief is as unique as your fingerprint, and by talking through the many grief emotions we can help you process and take steps forward.

I wanted to get into the mental health field from a young age, as I was always surrounded by friends and family who struggled with mental health.
I am a Licensed Social Worker with a passion for decreasing the stigma surrounding mental health and promoting the health and well being of my clients. For my undergraduate degree, I moved from Central Jersey (Yes! It exists!) to South Jersey to attend Stockton University. I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work with a Minor in Behavioral Neuroscience from Stockton, and then moved on to attend graduate school in Philadelphia. I received my Master of Social Work Degree with a clinical concentration from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy and Practice in May of 2020.

An ideal client for me is someone who has difficulty managing their emotions, engages in frequent negative thinking, and has trouble communicating their needs with family and friends. They want to decrease their anxious or depressive behaviors but have little knowledge of how to begin regulating their emotions.

My experience includes working with individuals, couples and families on issues ranging from trauma, anxiety, depression, family conflict and life transitions.
In life, we all experience trauma and stress that cause us to feel stuck. As a therapist I understand that healing is a process that involves a mind-body-spirit approach to treatment. Therapy is an opportunity to honor our truth and to work through the resistance and fear that hold us back from achieving personal growth. My office is an accepting and non-judgmental environment that welcomes everyone of all races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and gender identities.

My number one priority as a therapist is to offer a deep connection in a safe and supportive environment to allow each person to show up as their truest self. Starting from building this foundation, I can offer a variety of paths from there, including but not limited to CBT and DBT skills, grounding and mindfulness practice, addressing, depression, anxiety, general mood concerns, & more, or just a safe space. I primarily work with adults and teens in individual, couples, or family work. As part of the LGBTQIA+ community myself, I have a passion for working with the community.

Family Therapy
What do family therapists do?
A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.
How long does therapy for families take to work?
Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.
How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?
You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.
Is therapy for families effective?
Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
