I listen well and bring experience, honesty, and warmth to my work. Along with what’s going on now, we talk about past events and relationships that are part of your story, exploring how they may be making themselves felt in the present. Doing this thoughtfully together can open doors to better relationships with yourself, other people and the world.
My areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, parenting skills, grief work, caring for aging parents and chronic illness. Prior to my 17 years as a therapist, I was a special education teacher. This background is integral to my practice, particularly when working with clients or those with family members with special needs.
I want to acknowledge this unique time as it relates to mental health needs and the lack of available services. I operate a small private therapy practice, which can mean that my availability may fluctuate slowly. I have expanded my hours and maintain a wait-list, so please feel free to inquire.
