I serve a wide array of clients. These include individuals, families, and children. My background, skills, and experience lend themselves particularly well to younger clients. My practice most often addresses issues of anxiety, depression, trauma, grief/loss, relationships, anger management, attachment, divorce, emotion regulation, parent-child relationship, sibling conflict, self-esteem, blended families, and adoption.

Therapy, as I have practiced it for over 30 years, involves helping a client develop a new clarity about his or her life and its context. Some aspects of their life to explore are: their thoughts, feelings, values, concerns about others, and their concerns about themselves. Once a new clarity about their life is achieved, new solutions to their dilemmas will evolve. I certainly believe that clients are individuals, but I also know that they are connected to larger systems. My extensive knowledge of Individual and Family Systems allows me to work successfully with individuals, couples, and entire families.

Joanna has spent ten years in the medical field, which offers a unique and specialized view to those who may be working in the medical field or currently facing medical issues. Joanna mainly works with individuals ages 12 and up and has experience in couple and family counseling. She works with various concerns, including but not limited to addictions, depression, and anxiety. Due to personal and professional experience, Joanna is incredibly passionate about working with anxiety, premarital couples, teens, identity concerns (LGBTQIA+, cultural, spiritual, etc.), and chronic illness.
