Currently Not Accepting New Clients. "No one ever told me that grief felt so much like fear" -C.S. Lewis. Hello, I am here to help you on your personal grief and loss journey. Having someone you love die, can feel unbearable. I have provided a safe place where your voice is heard. Grieving and mourning can take place. Death of a loved one, loss of a career and loss of relationships can all leave you feeling hopeless and alone. I will sit with you in this darkness. I will hold hope for you. I have witnessed personally and professionally that there is light in all this darkness.

Sometimes in life, we feel stuck, we don't know where to go, or we just feel confused. Therapy is a great place to start when tackling big - or little - life questions! A good working relationship between a client and their therapist is extremely important; due to this, I feel rapport building is one of the key elements in beginning the therapeutic relationship. My passion lies in working with family dynamic changes, daily life struggles, crisis, victims of trauma, and depression/anxiety.

Whether it is just you, your partner, or your whole family, I find it helpful to have a place of safety and acceptance to explore where you are and where you want to go.
Here you are, looking for some help-so well done, you! Sometimes part of us wants help and another part wants to "do it on our own". Therefore, it is understandable that it might be no small task to make that first call. AND since sorting thoughts, feelings, and worries can feel overwhelming, I appreciate your courage and wisdom in seeking professional assistance, because no one has to do this alone. Getting to "better" is often very collaborative. Together, we can find a healthy and safe way to discover, sort and map the confusion/worry and then move forward. When you are ready, please give me a call. I am right here.

(Holly is a Licensed Clinical Marriage & Family Therapist & member of the American Association of Marriage & Family Therapists.
I love working with clients who are motivated to make meaningful change in their lives. So many of us carry old stories about ourselves that we have outgrown or that were never really true in the first place. You can expect a non-judgmental atmosphere to explore what is true for you & what you really want for your life. I use trauma-sensitive care when working through prior wounds.

Through my own exploration of family history and its impact on our attachment styles, I find meaning in exploring this with my clients through attachment work and emotionally focused approaches.
I know that therapy isn't one-size-fits-all. We all face challenges in life, some endure more than others, but you're not expected to handle it all on your own. I'm passionate about providing a safe environment that is validating, engaging, and focused on positive change to help both children and adults heal through their own unique therapeutic journey. My purpose includes creating a safe and accepting environment for children and families to grow from and to feel inspired by their own capabilities. I earned my graduate degree at Friends University, and I also have extensive training in the practice of Child-Centered Play Therapy.

I enjoy working with all sorts, but am particularly drawn to complex trauma, identity struggles, self-esteem, and family/relational concerns.
Feeling fatigued, overwhelmed , alone, and overburdened? Maybe even numb, empty, and hopeless? These symptoms can be all too familiar, but so personal and isolating. There's no need to continue dealing with this alone. As your therapist, I'll help you identify what has been keeping you stuck, and together we can discover your specific path towards overcoming these obstacles. Your pain, trauma, or even general unease doesn't have to have control you anymore. Schedule a session or send me an email and together we will move forward. I can't wait to see what feeling better does for you!

Family Therapy

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
