I help adults and couples create (and stick to!) their boundaries with friends, family, co-workers, and partner(s), grow communication skills, develop emotional understanding & expression, heal from current or past relational trauma, and navigate relational transitions such as separation, welcoming a child, and getting through Thanksgiving dinner!

I am a firm believer that we are not meant to go through our lives alone, but that often life's struggles can leave us feeling alone and isolated. Even when our well intended friends and family try to help us, sometimes there are just things that they aren't equipped to help us with; and we can end up feeling more alone and misunderstood than we did before. I'm a whole-hearted therapist who strives to create environments where people can feel safe and supported. I specialize in treating adults and couples struggling with relationships, family conflict, anxiety and life changes. Using eclectic techniques and a psychodynamic approach I help people work on the present issues while exploring how past experiences may be connected to current problems. Ultimately, therapy sessions help people uncover what is keeping them stuck while giving them the tools they need to move forward and begin enjoying life again.

I graduated with a Masters in Social Work in 2020 from Colorado State University. I am a licensed clinical social worker. I have 4 years experience in multisystemic family and individual therapy with all ages. I like to use play and art to process therapeutically. I have specialties in child centered play therapy, art therapy, trauma focused CBT, DBT, solution focused, mindfulness, and narrative therapy to use with individuals and families.

Reaching out and allowing somebody to help you sort through pain can be an intimidating process. I take a systems approach that includes care and attention to both the external and internal world of the individual, couple, or family. Sometimes shame, sadness, anxiety, and other more vulnerable feelings are shoved down deep only to surge up, spilling over when least expected. I am a licensed psychologist offering individual therapy and ADHD assessment. I believe the therapeutic relationship is central to healing. My approach to counseling is one that balances warmth and validation with growth-fostering challenge. I would describe myself as a dedicated and authentic counselor. I work from a relational/attachment lens. Areas of specialty include women's sexual & reproductive health, ADHD and neurodiversity, intimate partner relationships, chronic pain/illness, art/creativity, and family of origin relationships. I also enjoy working with clients around unpacking the ways systems have impacted their lives.

I am a Colorado and Washington State Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and a Clinical Fellow and Approved Supervisor in the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. The psychosocial conditions I provide treatment for include: addictions/compulsions, anxiety and depression, abuse and trauma, marriage/relationship issues, health and wellness, spirituality/faith issues, identity development issues, and sexuality. I believe a biopsychosocial-spiritual approach to health is the most comprehensive method of treatment.

I love supporting men to evolve as lovers through exploring their family environment and healing past trauma, guilt, shame or anything else that is holding them back from the authenticity and intimacy they seek in all their relationships. I love supporting relationships and all the forms of loving from monogamy(ish), nonmonogamy, kinky, BDSM and LGBTQIA folks. Clients love seeking me out for my direct & supportive interventions and resources to support them to evolve in and between our sessions. I support clients to move into greater self-love, & boundaries, & to explore hard conversations while staying protected and connected.

Although I work with a broad range of clients and subjects my passion and experience are best suited for marriage, parenting, young men and adolescent boys. Because of my age and experience I can connect effectively with both parent and child in a way that brings the whole family closer together.

Shiri believes that the most important thing in therapy is the connection between the client and the therapist. Clients must feel comfortable and trust their therapist. Shiri offers her clients empathy, authenticity, and acceptance, without judgment or criticism. She helps her clients examine the “stories” they tell themselves against the objective reality. Many times, those “stories” are only in their minds, based on their personal experience and history, and have no connection to reality. When they realize that, they can change their narrative.

My passion is working with Latina/o/e, Spanish-speaking, and LGBTQIA+/queer individuals, though I also love to work with clients from different identities and groups.
