My work with creative people informs my therapeutic process when working with teens and young adults, addiction and recovery, life transitions, family systems, women's issues, and the challenges we all face as human beings.
CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS! Do you feel STUCK, OVERWHELMED, or that you are NOT LIVING YOUR BEST LIFE? Do you say to yourself “IF ONLY I COULD...” (fill in the blank: make more money, lose 10 pounds, get that promotion, etc.), then I would be able to live the life I’ve always imagined? Are you struggling in your relationships? Maybe you're looking for someone to talk to about your job, relationships, life goals, or negative thinking patterns. Therapy is not a "one size fits all" process, and I work with my clients to help them navigate life’s challenges. I applaud you for taking the first step and exploring therapy!

I believe that everyone has the potential for self-growth and positive change is most reachable with accountability in an unconditional supportive environment. I utilize strength-based treatment, such as building one's "toolbox" or set of coping, assertiveness, and communication skills, and incorporate outside supports to enhance the therapeutic process. With children, I utilize a directive play method and also feel it's critical for parents to be involved in the therapeutic process through family sessions. With teens or adults, I utilize a solution-focused style and cognitive-behavioral techniques.

I am a trauma focused Iranian American therapist and primarily work with women's issues (anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, family conflict, parenting) among other things.
I offer both In Person and Telehealth options. Pretty much everyone you have met in your life have experienced trauma or something scary/ traumatic. Trauma impacts our brain, body, and relationship. It impacts our daily routine. Do you ever feel sadness and wanting to isolate? Do you ever feel overwhelmed or anxious? Do you find yourself feeling agitated or easily annoyed with others? If you answer yes to any of these questions, I can help.

I offer cognitive behavioral therapy, and utilize a family systems framework to help young children, teens, adults and families suffering from anxiety and depression.
Change is not an easy process, as it is often more comfortable to accept what is familiar. The desire to change occurs when the pain to remain the same is greater than the discomfort associated with the uncertainty of change. Here you will find a warm, welcoming, safe space to embrace the courage to change, heal and become the best version of yourself, whether it is feeling stuck in general, unsatisfactory relationships, difficulty at work, unexpected life circumstances, old habits, intrusive thoughts or patterns of behaviors.

Trauma leaves us feeling broken and disconnected from who we truly are. You may be fed up with feeling lonely, worthless, or even unlovable. You may not even remember a time things didn’t feel this way. But one thing is for certain: you’re ready for some relief. You’re ready to begin understanding the root of these feelings. You’re ready to cultivate deeper self-trust and authenticity. Most of all, you’re ready to return home to yourself.

Family Therapy

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
