Are you and your partner(s) looking for counseling? Whether due to stress outside the relationship, wanting to feel closer to each other, or repairing a rupture from cheating, I can support you through your relationship journey. As a marriage and family therapist, I firmly believe in the transformative power of relationships, but that doesn’t mean they are easy to navigate alone. All relationship orientations are welcome- dating, married, nonmonagamous/poly — I have experience working with these. I’m aware of the societal shame towards poly folks and my practice works to undo any shame in relationship counseling.

I work with individuals & families who yearn for deeper, more satisfying connections to themselves, each other and the earth. Self-love is an unlearning process, and by bearing witness to your gifts, spirit, and love, as well as whatever may be clouding these forces, I hope to help you come home to yourself and from a place of alignment, begin orienting your life towards what nourishes it. Capitalism leaves us with few tools beyond the punishment and blame when it comes to self-improvement. I hope to replenish your toolkit with the grace, curiosity, and connection that will actually facilitate the growth and wellbeing of your spirit

Discover your authentic self while strengthening & developing your support systems, utilizing gender/sexuality-affirming therapy, trauma-informed interventions, somatic experiencing, narrative, Internal Family Systems (informed) & solution-focused therapies.
As an openly polyamorous-queer-gender nonconforming person, I’ve spent most of my life experiencing microaggressions & unlearning the cisnormative & hetronormative messages that constantly tell us we are defective, broken, or unwanted. They are wrong! We are fabulous, vibrant & deserving, of all the gifts the world has to offer. I became a therapist to share what I’ve learned, bring healing, & advocate for queer/trans youth, young adults & their families while working for social justice & full inclusion into society. Our work will be in a safe, affirming space so we can collaborate to create & implement a road map to your recovery.

You want them to be happy and successful, but instead they are distant, angry, lonely, aggressive, defiant, hyperactive, or depressed. As a parent, you want to be there for your kids, to help them get through their struggles, but you’re not sure what to do. That’s why you’re here. You’re hoping someone can help you put your family back together.

You are a product of your community. As a result, you are a Survivor of the traumas, the cultural norms, and the "rules" that you followed in order to stay alive. When you based your survival on another's expectation of you, you eventually found yourself lost in the limbo of sacrificing your authenticity and your voice for the happiness and success of your social circle, family, and/or your community.

I have been working with teens, children, and adults with anxiety, depression and offer a unique focus on gender identity issues for the individual and their family (if the individual so desires), as transitioning and/or coming out has an affect on the whole unit.
I self identify as Nonbinary and am a LGBTQ+ supportive, affirming therapist. My specialty is transgender, nonbinary, and/or gender questioning adults, and teens. Did you know people can question their gender or even begin to recognize that they don't identify as their sex assigned at birth as early as age 3! Gender identity issues are difficult to navigate...for client AND parents. As a parent, you may experience grief, confusion, overwhelming questions and feelings, plus, your child's own confusion and overwhelming feelings. Come visit for an hour and let's see how we can work through this time together.

Family Therapy

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
