In my practice, I believe we have two types of relationships: the relationship we have with ourselves, and the relationships we have with others. When you have been hurt by others, it may become more challenging to love yourself. You begin to think, “ What did I do wrong?”, or “They didn’t want me, so I’m not worth loving”.
When you struggle to love yourself, it further negatively impacts your relationships (also known as “emotional baggage”) and a cycle begins. It will take time and effort but you can heal, and the cycle of hurting can be broken.
It is my privilege to help people repair their wounds and foster their true, authentic selves in therapy. The emotional and behavioral work isn’t always easy to do, but it is easier when you feel trust and connection with your therapist.
