I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 23 years of experience of working in the counseling field. My desire is to help individuals, couples, and families in their pursuit of healthy emotional living. In those 23 years, I have had the opportunity to work in several settings- school, church, a psychiatric hospital, and an intensive outpatient program.

I have been helping others: Special needs, Relational, Behavioral, A&D, Elderly, and Children as a C.N.A., Foster mother, Care giver, Activity Director, and as a Therapist during my adult life. I have 10 grandchildren, and 4 are special needs children. I have several years experience providing Couples/Marriage, Family, and Behavioral and Mental therapy; and am eclectic in my use of modalities. I am an author with Good News and multiple other psychology sites. Heal and Hope Counseling Services, LLC have 3-5 counselors of diverse backgrounds, cultures, languages, and specialties!!! We provide in office and Telehealth for our clients!

I am a Masters Level therapist with 17+ years experience. I work with older children through senior adults, marriage/family/parenting issues, and mental health disorders, such as Depression and Anxiety. As a former teacher, I have a unique combination of experiences that contribute to my success in working with youth. When counseling school age children, I involve the client's entire environment (parents, teachers, etc.) to develop a comprehensive plan in treating the whole client. I am a member of the AACC.

It’s normal as a parent to feel overwhelmed or exhausted when your teen or child are hurting and working through life adjustments, problems at school, and other major changes. Children and teens communicate through their actions due to lack of understanding the emotions underneath. My passion is to help children and teenagers who are struggling to process their emotions and work through life’s difficulties by providing a safe and warm place for them to grow more in who they are.

I have worked with children in different capacities throughout my life and have been in the mental health field for over 10 years providing therapy for children, individuals and families. I have worked with individuals who are experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, autism, relationship issues, trauma, self harm and much more. I believe that YOU are the expert in your life, however I know that at times it is helpful to be able to talk to someone else. I strive to empower, encourage and support each person that I work with. I enjoy meeting new people and working to help others create the life they truly desire to live.

No matter how much effort you put forth in your significant relationships, the message you want them to receive, seems lost in the confusion of misunderstandings. You want to love and be loved, but you continue to feel alone and sometimes devalued. What is their problem --or your's? My goal is to hold hope for individuals, couples and families until they are able to hope for themselves. My office (Cleveland or Chattanooga) will provide calm, comfort and support to you in the toughest of times life can throw at you.
