I am passionate about my work and believe in the healing benefits of psychotherapy. I view therapy as a process through which we explore the issues that confront you, place them in a context and develop strategies for change. Engaging in this process not only do we learn new ways of coping or getting "unstuck" but we also develop a more genuine relationship with ourselves, others and the world in general. I am authentic and direct but a considerate therapist who will work with you and assist in empowering you to move forward in meeting your goals with care, compassion and a sense of humor.

Crystal Favre, LPC has helped hundreds of children, adolescents, adults and families recover, grow and take control of their lives. Sometimes all people need is the first step of recovering and finding balance. Others have goals they're struggling to reach because of obstacles in their way. In each case, Crystal takes a compassionate, patient approach to help each individual/family work out the steps they need to progress toward their goals regardless of the situation.

I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and specialize in working with individuals throughout the entire lifespan. My modalities include CBT, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Play Therapy, Strength Based Counseling and Mindfulness Approach to work with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and trauma. I am passionate about connecting with clients on an emotional and empathic level to building strong, lasting relationships with them. I hold a Master’s of Art in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Bradley University. She received a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from University of Georgia.

I have over 15 years of experience treating children, couples and families using an integrated approach based on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and family systems theories. My primary interests are in communication, self-expression, self-esteem, anxiety and behavior problems. I served as the Student and Associate Chair of the Georgia Association of Marriage and Family Therapists from 2009 -2012. I am the founder of Adaptive Therapy Counseling Group, LLC in Lilburn and Alpharetta, where I have treated individuals and families suffering from eating disorders, anxiety disorders and mood disorders for over 10 years.

Therapy is a collaborative process. I feel so lucky to have spent most of my adult life helping people. I have been a Director of large hospitals & Pain Institutes, Chief Psychologist for a residential hospital, Laurel Heights, in Atlanta, GA. However, most rewarding to me is the privilege of working with individuals & couples in my private practice. Developing trust with each of my patients and witnessing the growth and progress they have accomplished is the greatest feeling. My experience includes working with children & adolescents, families, couples and adults.

I'm honored to be able to work with you and I have a genuine desire to help. I have a primarily psychoanalytic orientation, although I use other therapeutic methods and techniques as needed. I work with family of origin issues, trauma, depression and anxiety, adjustment issues, addiction and relapse (post-rehab), PTSD, and with family of narcissists or those with borderline personality disorder. He is an EMDR-trained psychotherapist whose primary specializations are in healing nonsexual trauma, addiction recovery, sexual health concerns, sexual trauma, and compulsions. He also has a strong interest in walking compassionately with individuals on the deeply spiritual and psychological journey toward a whole, healthy, and fully integrated life encompassing all the physical, emotional, and spiritual parts of a person.

My training and experience includes working with the effects of trauma (PTSD) and stressful experiences (e.g. emotional and sexual abuse, affairs, divorce, family conflict, grief, work stress, medical etc). I also work with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, ADHD, gender and sexuality, OCD, Maternal Mental Health, self-harm, behavior disorders and Insomnia.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with dual master's degrees in Social Work and Criminology. I typically work with individuals experiencing school/work stress, marriage or family difficulties, poor communication, lifestyle transitions, adjusting to college, or graduating college.
