I am also deeply influenced by IFS (internal family systems) and Relational modalities.
Hello and welcome! Pursuing therapy is a major step in caring for your mental health, and finding a therapist who is a good match is of utmost importance. I work with clients ages 16 and up, and focus on building trusting therapeutic relationships. In a nutshell, my approach focuses on helping people break out of patterns that are no longer serving them and connecting them to their power in the present moment. As a queer nonbinary clinician, I have particular expertise in working with LGBQ+ and TGNC populations, as well as supporting people in navigating kink, non-monogamy, and alternative relationship structures.

I work with individuals and couples who are seeking to solve an identified problem, or to ameliorate their lives while navigating the daily stressors of contemporary life. With my clients, I often discuss the important influence of family and culture(s) of origin, relational patterns, and other situational factors that might maintain or reinforce existing challenges. My ideal clients are open to exploring how to best improve their lives - and I am willing to meet them where they are.

Are you struggling in your relationship with family, a partner, or friends? Are you feeling down or have low self-esteem? Have you recently experienced a crisis, a death, or a major change? Or are you, as a couple, finding yourselves in the same pattern of arguments, looking for relief? When faced with these challenges, some of the healing power comes from being able to voice it in a safe space with the support and compassion of a therapist. I'll work with you to explore what you're going through in a warm, non-judgmental way. Because we are each built differently, I apply an eclectic approach to cater to each person's needs.

Navigating relationships is complicated and challenging. We often find ourselves entangled in various dynamics—breakups, romantic issues, family conflicts, and workplace dilemmas. These encounters can evoke a spectrum of emotions: depression, anxiety, and stress, manifesting also as insomnia, rumination, and physical discomfort.

All kinds of things bring people into therapy. Many of my clients are struggling with some kind of relationship issue, whether it’s a stressful workplace dynamic, a conflict with a partner, friends or family, or challenges navigating the dating world. Many also feel stuck in some indescribable way – in their careers, with unhealthy habits or with feeling like they’re somehow not in the driver’s seat. I see myself as a facilitator and a guide. I’ll help you understand all the different parts of yourself, connect you to your inner voice, and learn to recognize the relationship patterns you find yourself repeating.

Family Therapy
What do family therapists do?
A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.
How long does therapy for families take to work?
Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.
How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?
You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.
Is therapy for families effective?
Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
