About
I began my career, as a Bachelor’s level provider, while my family was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. I worked for a military contract under UCLA’s Semel Institute for Neuroscience & Human Behavior. On completion of my MSW, I rejoined the FOCUS team at Camp Lejeune, NC as a Resiliency Trainer for military families & couples. We relocated to Beaufort, SC, and I joined the Military & Family Life Counselor Program. I served in multiple roles as an MFLC, including a school-based assignment and an adult Army Recruiting Command assignment. Becoming a therapist has been my dream since a therapist changed my life as teenager.
That goal was challenging as an Active Duty Military Spouse, but I never lost sight during all the moves. Since my spouse’s retirement, we returned to Columbia & I joined a private practice. In 2018, I opened Live Learn Hope Individual & Family Counseling, my lifelong dream, & am so excited to be able to serve individuals, families & couples in Columbia.
I am currently preparing to apply for the Supervisory credential, here in South Carolina to provide supervision and training to new clinicians. I love helping clients and new therapists find their own personal strengths, hope and sense of resilience, even if they feel they don’t identify these qualities in themselves.
