"Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of overcoming it." Helen Keller. For more than twenty years as a psychologist, I have been privileged to work with people who are brave enough to overcome their suffering and to make significant and lasting changes in their lives. Psychotherapy helps you address current and long-standing difficulties; experience less suffering; alleviate self-defeating behaviors; build and maintain healthier relationships; become more resilient and adaptable to change; and begin to develop a more accurate understanding of your past and what you want for your future.
I have an integrated approach to psychotherapy, customizing treatment to meet your individual needs and context. Drawing on effective methods across theoretical schools, my approach combines the best available research with clinical expertise. In addition to individual psychotherapy, I specialize in couples therapy, DBT-informed skills training, and smoking cessation.
I will work with you in a respectful, honest, open, and non-judgmental manner. You can expect careful attention, active listening, and open inquiry. I provide a comfortable, private, and secure environment for your work. My office is set in a quiet Upper East Side location, convenient to all transportation.
