My ideal clients are women who've recently realized they've suffered from narcissistic abuse. These brave individuals seek therapy whilst feeling sad, confused, scared, and angry, torn between the truth and the illusion of their past relationships. At first, they struggle to identify and express their needs due to codependency. My goal is to provide compassionate support and guidance to help them navigate this challenging journey towards healing and self-discovery.
In the beginning, clients need education about Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) and narcissistic abuse. The primary goal is to help them process the grief of the past relationship and the abuse, all the while empowering them to become the strong, independent individuals they aspire to be.
Towards the end of our initial sessions, I offer my clients my contact info and let them know that they can reach out via text, using me as a sounding board, to share their thoughts, vent, or simply to share something amusing or exciting whenever they feel the need. Many clients find it helpful to reach out, especially during difficult phases of treatment.
