What I find most beautiful about this work is how we surprise ourselves when we talk about our lives in detail. I’ll listen to you in a distinct way from others, and together we will build a clearer picture of what is going on in your life. As a social worker, I am trained to pay attention to the interplay between inner worlds and outer systems—the dialectic of psychic pain and social identity. In addition to adults, I see adolescents in my practice. I will work with your teen or pre-teen to promote self-reflection and provide a space for them to practice coming into being. I also work with children. With younger ones, I find the door for communication opens with play—a means for expressing that which does not always feel safe to voice directly.
Altogether, I have over 7 years working with: depression, anxiety, performance issues, self-sabotaging behaviors, guilt, teenage and adult substance use, self-esteem troubles, questions about gender, LGBTQ+ identity and sexuality, childhood trauma, loneliness and single-parent concerns. I also teach, consult and write on topics in relational psychoanalysis.
