My hope is that we will create a space together in which a unique healing relationship may unfold. To facilitate that space, I tend to focus on your feelings and how they are held in the body; on past experiences and how they relate to current feelings and relational patterns; on how relational patterns may be being repeated within the therapy; on the richness of your internal world (that emerges, for example, in dreams, daydreams, artwork, etc.); and on awareness itself, within which all of the above happens.

The goal is not just symptom remission, but also an expansion of your capacity to find meaning and enjoyment in your life. You, as the client, are asked to do two things: show up regularly; and be curious about how you are experiencing your life.

I have extensive experience working with individuals with all types of anxiety, depression, and trauma. After 20+ years of meditation practice I also enjoy working with meditators and artists experiencing impasse. Finally, I welcome couples and families who are interested in enriching their experience of each other.

Meditation Techniques

This will be an 8 week seminar intended to introduce various types and styles of meditation. Each week will focus on a specific meditation technique which participants will be expected to practice between meetings. Although all spiritual and religious traditions are respected, the presenter will utilize current neurological and psychological findings regarding meditation to explain these techniques. Each meeting will include some initial explanation, practice with the technique, time for questions, and an extended period of meditation of at least 20 minutes.
