Announcement icon I am prepared to handle sessions during COVID-19 by offering confidential video and audio sessions though use of phones or computers.
Jeff Scannell is not currently accepting new clients.
My areas of specialty include help with trauma, anxiety, stress, anger, depression, self-judgement, relationships and addictions. I believe that the primary responsibility of a therapist is to connect deeply with clients and to help them to find and cultivate their own innate goodness and potential. My approach to counseling and psychotherapy rests on a solid foundation of providing empathic attunement, acceptance, insight and supportive responsiveness. I help people to experience themselves in a way that empowers them with increased skill and confidence in living. I teach a calm clarity that aids any kind of personal or interpersonal problem resolution.
I have extensive training in many types of therapy, including mindfulness-based psychotherapy, sensorimotor psychotherapy for trauma, developmental and attachment issues, narrative therapy, compassionate communication, client-centered and existential-humanistic psychotherapy. I am also a certified meditation instructor and community dharma leader. I welcome a chance to talk with you about your concerns and yearnings.
My private practice is in a warm, spacious and welcoming office suite, with a comfortable private waiting room, in the heart of "downtown" Montpelier. I also have a long history of working for environmental and social justice organizations and enjoy supporting those who struggle with the dominant social paradigm.
