My approach draws from an existential-humanistic lens, while drawing from Internal Family Systems, Attachment Theory, Emotion Focused Therapy, and Somatic Therapy.
My clients are mostly adults in individual and couples therapy who are navigating the stressors of relationships, adulthood, life transitions, communication, dating, anxiety, and attachment. You may be someone who is struggling to live in the uncertainty that life often brings, or maybe you're navigating boundaries in your relationships - all things that bring about anxiety and fear for many people. Despite what it may be, I am here to support you and talk through it with you. I can offer support in areas of anxiety, depression, grief, family/relationship/dating challenges, identity formation, sexuality, and personal growth.

Interventions I use can be found within the humanistic, existential, CBT, brief psychodynamic, schema, and narrative theories.
I specialize in individual therapy which focuses on anxiety, depression, and trauma. My work typically centers around assisting the client to enhance their own awareness capabilities, processing traumatic experiences, exploring core beliefs derived from these experiences, and collaboratively working to undo false narratives which have created the anxiety and mood symptoms bringing them into treatment.

With individuals I use narrative, and existential-humanistic therapy.
I support individuals, couples, and families who want to reconnect to themselves and each other. Many clients come to me to learn how to identify and communicate their needs, understand recurring patterns in their life, process difficult experiences, and connect to their intuition and authenticity. So often in life we have to hide certain parts of ourselves to be accepted. In therapy together you won’t need to filter or mask yourself to be respected or understood. I love working with all types of people and have additional experience working with adults on the spectrum and those in mixed neurotype relationships.

I use models and theories such as IFS, ACT, CBT and Existential Humanistic Theory to inform my practice, while always prioritizing a flexible approach that honors your individuality.
I’m passionate about finding a pathway for you to be the most authentic and empowered version of yourself, as well as working with any roadblocks created by self-limiting beliefs, trauma, oppressive social structures and intergenerational patterns that prevent your full expression as a human being. Often times, these road blocks are the reasons we might be experiencing symptoms of anxiety or depression. Through this work, I will support you in having a more meaningful connection with yourself, with others, and with life as a whole.

I am a Humanistic, Existential and Systemic Psychotherapist. I respect each person's inner wisdom and believe that each of us naturally tends toward growth and resilience. Past and current relationships, be they family of origin, community, cultural ties, or family of choice, shape who we are, how we grow, and hold both the wound and the salve for our healing. I work with individuals, couples, teens, and families. Much of my work is with people who are in some sort of transition or crossroads in their relationships or personal growth.

I use an eclectic style that is primarily informed by Core Energetics, existential inquiry, and contemplative practices, but call on various systems to work with what arises.
I enjoy working with the full spectrum of development, from personal and relational issues to transpersonal and spiritual growth issues. As relational beings, the power to heal and grow is unlocked through the therapeutic relationship, so this is at the center of the work. Using the relationship and our present moment awareness, we can explore self-limitations, alienation in relationships, lack of fulfillment, and the understandable anxiety and depression that arises from those challenges.

I use a holistic approach to therapy drawing on Family Systems theory, Existential, Attachment theory and Psychodynamic therapy lenses.
Do you want to make a change? Coping skills often developed early on in life and were important to help get you to where you are today. They can arise from a childhood that seems "normal" or one filled with trauma and struggle. Coming to therapy is a step in healing the wounds from the past and working with the struggles of today. I can help you process your lived experience at your pace to help you move forward and make positive changes in your life. I am currently prioritizing couples and families who want to do therapy together, I draw on Emotionally Focused therapy and Family Systems when working with families and couples.

I believe everyone can find healing in an atmosphere of non-judgment, validation, and empathy. Acceptance and honesty can perform miracles. My theoretical orientation is rooted in the Humanistic-Existential approach. It means that I believe that every individual has the best expert of themselves and is in power to shape their present, future, and even the past. We all hold the key to our happiness. However, the traumas we hold, injustice, oppression, and cultural stereotypes make us feel overwise. It makes us feel powerless over our own lives. My role as a therapist is to help my clients to remember that they are in charge.

Existential Therapists

How does existential therapy work?

Existential therapy focuses on a patient’s inner experiences. The therapist tries to help the individual comprehend and alleviate symptoms by exploring their interior life. By confronting negative disquiet and emotions, the individual will hopefully become more open to finding meaning and purpose. This therapy can be administered to individuals or groups.

Is existential therapy evidence-based?

Existential therapy is an evidence-based practice. Research has determined that existential therapy can lead to significant improvement in the mental health of patients, and for some people it can be just as effective as cognitive behavioral therapy. The benefits of existential therapy are enduring, even long after treatment has ended.

How long does existential therapy last?

The goal of existential therapy is to understand a person’s internal experiences, which may sound like a lengthy process, but it does not have to be so in-depth. However, sessions are not short-term, and therapy can continue for months or up to a year. And because patients learn the theory behind existential therapy during treatment, they can also practice its tenets throughout life after therapy sessions have been completed.

Is existential therapy effective?

According to research, many patients find success with existential therapy. Researchers note that the therapy is particularly useful in improving feelings of isolation, feelings of purposelessness, as well as conditions such as anxiety and depression. Improvements in problem areas can persist even after the end of existential therapy, as individuals can continue working on themselves by using the tools they’ve developed during treatment.
