Working from a person-centered perspective, I believe that the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important components for change. I offer an empathic space to explore your goals toward recovery. I use a variety of theoretical approaches, including CBT, existential, and interpersonal therapies. Specializing in eating disorders, I begin the therapeutic relationship by meeting clients where they are in the recovery process. I understand that the development of an eating disorder is complex, and that there is no "one size fits all" approach to treatment. I can help you learn positive coping skills and address body image, identity, and self-esteem issues.

As a psychotherapist for the last 30 years, I have particular interests in doing couples therapy and working with men who are depressed. I also see individuals with a wide range of life difficulties including depression, anxiety, work related problems, existential and life meaning questions, marriage difficulty (particularly involving extra-marital affairs) divorce issues, parenting issues, and communication issues. I facilitate 6 different groups - a mixed gendered process oriented group, two groups for men, and 3 supervision groups. I was trained in Symbolic-Experiential Psychotherapy at the Atlanta Psychiatric Clinic in Atlanta. I enjoy working with people from all socio-economic levels and diverse backgrounds.

I hold a Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia. As a clinician, I have worked in both family counseling and holistic wellness settings. My areas of specialty are Individual Therapy, Teletherapy, and Hypnotherapy. I work with a variety of different concerns women face, such as Trauma, Adjustment Issues, Anxiety, Depression, Grief, Shame, (OCD), and Health/Caregiver concerns. My theoretical approach utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Theory, while incorporating perspectives and interventions from Narrative, Feminist, and Existential Theories.

Therapeutically, Stan uses the metaphor that life is like a hiking trail. It has ups and downs, easy stretches and difficult inclines, rewarding sights, and gut-wrenching days when it feels like the rain is following us specifically. Using a mixture of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Constructivist Narrative Therapy, Stan works alongside his client, not only to understand patterns of behavior and how to adjust them, but also to dive deeper and uncover the strength and resilience every human is capable of.

I have experience working with adults & teens who struggle with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, along with major life transitions. My work with adolescents includes depression, anxiety, trauma/PTSD, school behavior concerns, & sexual identity.
