When people are unhappy or anxious or distressed, they sometimes consider consulting a psychologist. I am not so concerned about finding a label for you as I am about helping you to find a way to enjoy your life and your relationships and be productive in a way that you find satisfying. I seek an approach that fits your problem and situation, and that may be insight-oriented, cognitive behavioral, using hypnosis or simply supportive, as we explore together, at a pace you are comfortable with, your goals and concerns.
My original training was psychodynamic, but now my approach is quite flexible and eclectic. I work with all ages, and I don't so much have "a favorite kind of patient" as much as preferring to work with someone who is open, willing to talk about their concerns and willing to work on them. The practice I am in now does not, unfortunately, accept Medicaid.
