The world can be a frightening, difficult place, and we all need a safe place where we can feel seen, valued, and appreciated for who we are. My practice is primarily informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), with a client centered base. I believe that a strong, supportive therapeutic relationship is the cornerstone of all change. I work with a wide range of clients from diverse backgrounds and with diverse presenting concerns.
I focus primarily on working with children and adolescents, using play and geek therapy. My other focus is LGBTQIA clients, with an emphasis on gender issues. As a trans man, I find myself in a somewhat unique position to provide competent, compassionate, understanding care to those who identify as trans or gender diverse.
My approach emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuineness. My ideal client would be someone in the LGBTQIA community, struggling with difficult thoughts or emotions, experiencing difficult life circumstances, wanting to process past traumas, or explore their gender/sexuality.
