About
How often have people told you how “responsible” or “mature” you were for your age as a child? Maybe you feel highly impacted by others' emotions or reactions. What's it like to consider that these things may have developed as a means to survive chaos, abuse and neglect? We'll work together to embrace what we feel plague us. There's strength and power in all of these things. I work with clients processing childhood trauma + neglect, those looking to improve their relationship with food + their bodies and clients living with intrusive thoughts, panic and obsessive thinking.
I work from an anti-diet, size inclusive framework to help you reconnect with your body. I often use inner child + attachment-style work to help my clients better understand themselves & their needs. From there, we might use internal family systems, somatic, cognitive behavioral, exposure or narrative therapy to help you heal and welcome change.
I show up in the world as a fat, Hispanic woman and my identity as a counselor reflects that. I know how powerful therapy can be when you find a good fit! My own therapy journey in healing from an eating disorder, OCD and trauma absolutely transformed my world. As your clinician, I hope to lead you down your own path to peace and self-acceptance.
