About
My areas of competence include individual counseling, couples counseling, and family counseling. I serve people from age 5 to adult. Because I believe that a client's self-awareness and choices are key to developing self-direction and independence, my techniques will include techniques from Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Narrative, Emotion Focused and other family systems interventions. I believe success in counseling comes from the therapeutic relationship between counselor and client and the client's motivation for change. I operate from a strengths-based and encouragement-focused approach.
I am unable to prescribe medication to clients. Some clients need only a few counseling sessions to achieve these goals, while others may require more counseling.
I am well-informed on the stressors of those in agriculture/ranch-related occupations and lifestyles. I have lived the majority of my life on a farmstead and have been a rancher with my spouse for the past 10+ year. The unique challenges, stressors and lifestyle of rural, agriculturally-related issues are both familiar and an area I have a passion to serve.
