I work with adolescents and adults on a wide range of challenges from general counseling and adjustment issues (feeling "stuck") to more clinical issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma and sexual issues. I focus on LGBT clients, particularly in the area of transgender identity, but have a diverse client base overall. I have experience working with clients that have issues related to polyamory, the kink community, and navigating these issues within relationships. I also have interns and supervisees that can see sliding scale clients from various populations.
I predominantly use Cognitive Behavioral therapy (for depression and anxiety), but have extensive training in Mindfulness-based therapy, Gestalt therapy, Psychodynamic therapy, and other techniques and use whichever is most appropriate for the client. Much of my practice is working with clients with PTSD, and I am trained in EMDR
I believe that the relationship between the therapist and client is the most important part of the process, so I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space for people to explore whatever they need to explore during the course of therapy. Telehealth Sessions available if you live outside of NYC.
