Are you tired of running from the same problems only to somehow run into a different set of same ol’ problems? If you're ready to break the cycles within yourself and your relationships then I think you and I'd work really well together. I regularly work with adults whose parents have abused substances. Whether their parents are now sober or in active addiction, the emotions this relationship holds are complex, the grief over what you wish you had, and the anger at the choices they have made. I also utilize this grief lense when working with those with chronic illnesses, and anyone wishing to heal other sorts of trauma.
This complex grief requires extra care and knowledge around attachment theory and trauma. I can assist you in healing these attachment traumas and in healing a relationship with this parent if that is what you wish by creating a safe and warm environment for you and then act as a guide as we process past experiences using IFS and/or EMDR trauma therapies.
The journey to being my best self started with a scary phone call asking for help, but it was best thing I've ever done. I'd encourage you to make the call. Processing Deconstruction & Religious Trauma
This is a support group for anyone who may be navigating religious deconstruction. One of the #1 complaints I hear when working with clients in the midst of deconstruction is feeling isolated and missing the feeling connection. This group exisits to provide a space to process however you may need, ask questions, grieve, and connect. This process group will provide a space for you to share & process your struggles with others. Group topics include: trauma education, isolation and support in the midst of deconstruction, asking questions with safe people, developing your identity and boundary setting.
