Ms. Childs is a dynamic, interactive therapist who has been in mental health and wellness for over 30 years. She is dually licensed as a Marriage, Family and Child Counseling and as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. Additionally she is also trained in telemental-health and credentialed as a Distance Counselor. Utilizing traditional and non-traditional resources, she involves the whole person in the therapeutic experience. Her collaborative, strength based approach empowers clients to succeed in their identified goals and issue resolution. Sessions are by distance counseling/telehealth.
In addition to individual, group, couples and family psychotherapy, Ms. Childs also provides Life Coaching. (Coaching is pro-active and focuses on assisting people meet specific goals such as career or life transition, leadership skill development, and other self-development goals.) Coaching can be in person or telephonic/ internet. Insurance does not cover
Distance counseling is a counseling approach that utilizes the best practices of traditional counseling (as well as some of its own unique advantages) and adapts them via electronic means . The technology-assisted methods may include telecounseling (telephone), secure e-mail communication, chat, or videoconferencing each means are HIPPA compliant.
