My mission as a therapist is to sit with clients in a way that supports healing and growth and encourages discovery of innate wisdom. I believe that we all possess the capacity to know peace, but that sometimes we become disconnected as a result of painful experiences and unhelpful coping patterns. Disconnection can manifest as anxiety, depression, addictive or other self-destructive behaviors, or even psychosis. When symptoms interfere with our ability to have satisfying experiences-- in relationships, at work, and in life in general-- we can benefit from getting help.
I help clients of all ages and a wide variety of circumstances through a supportive and empathic relationship. Within a safe and nurturing therapeutic alliance one can gain insight, process feelings, and learn new skills. I believe in the healing power of self-compassion and the liberation of self-awareness-- both hard-earned, but worth the work!
I utilize a variety of therapeutic orientations in order to meet the unique needs of each client. I especially like person-centered and cognitive-behavioral techniques, and I draw from both depth psychology and attachment theory. A group psychotherapy offering focused on therapeutic writing. The goal of this group is to nurture healing, foster insight, and support personal growth through structured writing exercises. Meets weekly starting January 5th, two options to join: Mondays 12 - 1:15 @ 2029 Village Lane, Solvang AND Fridays 11 - 12:15 Online/Zoom.
