Families, I know you're exhausted. The worry about your child, and constant wonder if there is more you can do for them - I know you would do almost anything to help your child, or find a teacher who really gets them. I strive to be just that. I live for empowering children, and showing adults how to see them in their best light by integrating the science of human behavior and the Montessori social pediatric model. My aim is to acknowledge the concerns you have, and offer collaborative, compassionate, evidence-based, and practical strategies that align with your family’s goals. I am here to serve all families. No diagnosis required.
My specialty is working with children and adolescents, and facilitating social skills interventions within Montessori settings. I have expanded my offering of services for all families in need by waiving the diagnostic requirement if paying out of pocket. Insurance companies may still require a diagnosis and referral.
Facilitated therapeutic social skills groups are a great way for children to build peer relationships. We do this by sharing and finding common interests, and learning skills such as: turn-taking, perspective taking, and through practicing the various components of psychological flexibility. Our elementary part-time home school social skills program is open for continuous enrollment during the school year, for children ages 6-12. Each 3-hour group session is limited to 6 participants. We use the Canvas art curriculum, ACT Matrix, and the AIM (Accept, Identify, Move) curriculum to explore and practice the elements of psychological flexibility and social emotional learning (SEL) in a fun and casual way. *** This group is appropriate for any elementary-aged child who may enjoy a small group setting with opportunities to interact, learn, and practice skills within a neurodivergent safe-space.
