About
Some things cannot be done alone. Managing grief, living with debilitating anxiety, tolerating resentment that will not relent - all are life challenges that require the presence of a patient listener who can bring words to pain where previously there were none. Our therapeutic relationship will create a safe space to share troubling feelings, thoughts, and behaviors that have been experienced as shameful, embarrassing, or isolating. I offer individuals an opportunity to examine past choices, current patterns of behavior, and impending decisions in a curious manner that promotes self-reflection and increases self-awareness.
For over eighteen years I have worked with adults, adolescents, college students, and their families in a variety of settings, including Tufts Medical Center, Lincoln-Sudbury High School, Riverside Outpatient and Urgent Care Clinics, and Brandeis University.
At times I incorporate mindfulness strategies and body-focused techniques to help locate a feeling that escapes words. By sitting with and understanding distress as well as building a repertoire of coping strategies to better tolerate it, together we embark on creating a life with more freedom to choose what that life entails.
