Hello and Welcome!
I’m Erin Ahlquist, a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in working with young children (ages 0–7) and families navigating challenging behaviors such as aggression, defiance, noncompliance, and frequent temper tantrums. I use Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), an evidenced-based treatment that strengthens the parent-child relationship while helping parents build effective behavior management skills. Through PCIT, families learn practical tools to improve communication, increase cooperation, and create more positive interactions at home, in school, and in the community.
In our first few sessions, you can expect a thorough assessment of your child’s strengths and needs, collaboration on individualized treatment goals, and hands-on support to begin making meaningful changes right away. My approach includes live coaching sessions, where I guide parents step-by-step in real time as they practice new skills with their child.
What makes my practice unique is the focus on working together in the moment to build confidence, strengthen connection, and create lasting behavioral change. I’m passionate about this work because it keeps the parent-child relationship at the center of treatment and builds on the strengths and skills families already have.
