Throughout my clinical training and subsequent clinical experiences, I have found that the most fundamental function of therapy is to create a safe, supportive environment for the client's experiences. To be validated in their very personal experiences helps create and foster a rich therapeutic relationship in which healing can begin. It is my passion and goal to help my clients gain a better understanding of themselves so that they may heal and learn how to effectively cope with life's struggles, past (traumatic) experiences, and create balance among their ego states.
I have had the privilege of working with clients suffering from a wide range of issues through traditional approaches such as CBT, however, I have found that my most effective approaches have been EMDR and Ego State work. Both of which target negative cognitions/belief systems and faulty thinking connected to past experiences.
It is my belief that the therapeutic environment is, and should be, a judgment-free place where people feel safe in expressing themselves. I tell my clients that I am a human diary where they can tell me anything and will be met with unconditional acceptance
