As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Illinois, I have over 15 years of social work experience in the medical, school and therapy settings. I am passionate about helping children ages 5-18 navigate the unique challenges at school and in their everyday lives. I also have experience working with autism and behavioral challenges. I received my Master of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Eastern Illinois University.I utilize many different therapeutic techniques including CBT, play therapy, DBT, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. I am also trained in EMDR.
As a Christian, I also can incorporate a Christian worldview into sessions, as I believe that Jesus Christ is the Great Healer. However, I am comfortable following the families lead if they prefer to not have that be a part of treatment. As a former school social worker, I possess extensive knowledge of Individualized Education Plans (IEP) and 504 plans.
My clients, their parents/guardians, and I will work together as a team to provide the best support to meet your child where they are at. I see my clients at Grace Church here in Mahomet.
