My counseling services are geared towards the development of awareness and self-compassion. I counsel teens and adults who are struggling with trauma, PTSD, relationship issues, depression, anxiety and life transitions. My passion is to support you during this journey of self-awareness and emotional healing as you improve your quality of life. I am suited to clients who live in marginalized spaces, as we have unique challenges from mainstream society, whether that be due to ethnicity, gender, sexuality, size, hidden and obvious disabilities, class, and the many other ways that people are discriminated against.
Trauma doesn't just live in your mind; it is often body based and experienced as panic, hypervigilance, or complete exhaustion. If you are a survivor of sexual assault or relationship abuse, talking about it over and over isn't always enough. I combine EMDR, Sensorimotor (somatic) therapy, and expressive art therapy to help your nervous system feel safe.
Being a human being is a complex experience and yet we all hold within ourselves the seeds of growth. I certainly do not have all of the answers but I have spent a lifetime learning about myself and others and am willing and excited to sit with you as you grow into someone who tells a better story about themselves.
