I am guided by the principal that the deeper we can look into ourselves, the deeper we can see into the world - by understanding ourselves, we can understand how we are limited - once we know where we are hung up, we can make more adaptive and healthier choices - we can craft the life we prefer to live. In my work with clients, we often uncover long-held family patterns and dynamics that come from histories of addiction, abuse, toxic shame, codependency and trauma. These patterns become increasingly dissatisfying and uncomfortable to live with. I am here to help.
My approach to psychotherapy is personal; I see myself as a co-traveler on the path of healing and growth that is our shared human birthright. Initially, in my own therapy, I just wanted relief, but as I began to heal, I found the circle of my life widened, allowing me the chance to make new choices based in my own authentic truths.
I found I could grow my courage, cultivate resilience and turn my traumas and toxic shame into compassion for what so many of us suffer. My approach involves a gathering of knowledge that facilitates awareness of self to build the inner skills to step into authentic personal power. I am engaged, warm, curious and deeply love the work of psychotherapy.
