My ideal client is someone dealing with trauma. Additionally, I've seen great success with clients who experience excessive negativity, depression, anxiety, anger or lack fulfillment. I have excellent results with people who are looking for additional tools to find resolution and empowerment, and are willing to invest the time and energy to obtain their goals. I regularly assign homework and I notice clients who participate fully realize more rapid growth.
I believe in collaborative therapy, a mutually respectful process in which the client & therapist work together to resolve the issues at hand. I use a 3 phase approach: 1. Learn 2. Apply 3. Master. I have an eclectic approach utilizing Spirituality, Meditation, The Work of Byron Katie, Stoicism, Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
I feel honored and privileged to have spent 18 of my 20-year Naval career as a SEAL. I have been a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in Carlsbad since 2006. I have been a student of A Course in Miracles since 1999. Because of these many life experiences I feel that I understand the challenges of military and civilian life.
