About
As a child or adolescent reaching out to a stranger for counseling can be a big step-even scary at first. Sometimes knowing what to expect can be one of the biggest hurdles to clear. I view the counseling environment as a place where people can bring their problems and their perspective into an environment where they can feel heard. I believe that both children and adolescents bring their own set of unique strengths into counseling. I have found that building off of those strengths is one key to success in working with my clients.
Although coming into counseling is the first step, building trust to open up, does take time, and traditional talk therapy is not always the best route for everyone. I have been working with children and adolescents for a number of years and at times, also do in home therapy.
In working with both children and adolescents I have developed a variety of different techniques which are designed to help clients open up and share without feeling like the spot light is always on them. I am currently accepting new clients.
