As a Mexican-American therapist I want to provide a safe space and cultural competency for all. My background currently consists of working with survivors of Domestic Violence/IPV. Through my work with these clients I have also helped them work on the following: Improving self-esteem, understanding how to set boundaries in relationships, creating support systems that cater to a better sense of self, learning and establishing a sense of identity, and intergenerational trauma. My goal is to help individuals who want to better define who they are and heal from the impacts of external factors in order to live a more fulfilled life.
My work revolves around PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, Low Self-Esteem, Unhealthy Relationships, and Loss of Identity. Although I do not categorize myself into a specific theory/technique I find it helpful to state most of what I do is Person Centered Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I believe in working with thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to bring about change.
I do my best to provide a safe space for all clients regardless of age, social class, or background. I believe in putting my client's needs first and working with them to help achieve the goals they have and create an environment to help them thrive. I will do my best to be a conduit for change at a pace that is healthy and realistic without judgement.
