As a therapist, my goal is to provide a safe, comfortable, and supportive atmosphere for anyone seeking to make a change in their life. It can be an emotional decision to enter into a therapeutic relationship, but I would like to partner with you and develop a personalized approach tailored to your individual needs to help you attain the growth you're striving for. I work with individuals, couples, and families with a variety of issues including: pre-marital/marital counseling, depression, anxiety, divorce, parenting difficulties, ADHD, grief/loss issues and anger-management problems.
Therapy is approached from a systemic model of family therapy. I also utilize techniques from Cognitive-Behavioral and Solution-Focused theories. I attempt to use complimentary techniques to partner with my clients and unearth long-standing behavioral/relational patterns or negative thoughts that keep them from a more fulfilling life.
My background as a therapist on a child and adolescent inpatient hospital unit for 4 years has helped me gain the knowledge in helping families specifically make successful improvements in their lives after a crisis. I also have a passion and the training background in play therapy and group therapy.
