I have counseling experience working with a diverse clientele within the adult population. I serve adults in different stages of life, as well as religions backgrounds. I believe that all people have an innate desire to have a fulfilling and purposeful life. Inevitable stress, anxiety, crisis, trauma, and sadness that accompany life can leave unhealed wounds and drive human beings to develop healthy and unhealthy coping mechanisms, as well as perceptions about life that serve to protect them against future hardships. However, unhealthy coping strategies can continue to cause problems in our lives.
By utilizing an IFS approach, I believe that clients can more easily identify unhealthy coping habits and the meaning behind them. With this therapy model, I strive to help clients identify and seek to understand these thoughts about themselves and the world from a confident, compassionate position. This is one of the first steps in working towards change.
Furthermore, I also incorporate specific interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in and outside of session. I strive to give clients the opportunity to develop a holistic and healthy perception of themselves and the world around them.
