Most therapists are good at what they do. They are caring, kind, compassionate, and capable. Most importantly, I hope you find those qualities in the person you are looking for, whether or not I am that person. I believe that what distinguishes me is my 25+ years of experience working with people across the lifespan, from all walks of life, and with many unique and not-so-unique histories, experiences, and concerns that they bring to therapy. My work is about helping people better understand how they got here, where they are at this point in their lives, and where they would like to get to.
Though I am a generalist, I have extensive experience treating anxiety and mood disorders, relational issues, phase of life and identity issues, and concerns with gender and sexuality. I do primarily time-limited therapy (up to 20 sessions). In rare circumstances, I can see people over a longer period of time. In general, I do not do long-term therapy.
