I listen with empathy and compassion and bring to bear my clinical training and experience so that you heal and grow in ways that are transformative and lasting. I have been a therapist for 32 years and in private practice for 23 of them. I love helping people understand themselves better and resolve the obstacles to living a more meaningful and satisfying life.
The type of therapy I practice is psychoanalytic, which means I embrace complexity and work with what lies beneath the surface, the unconscious wishes and desires that lie outside of everyday awareness. Together we can discover the paths toward emotional freedom that lead to substantial, enduring changes, as well as healing from past traumas.
One part of my practice for 25 years has been helping men recover from sexual addiction (pornography, affairs, etc) and helping them find lasting change. If your sexual or romantic behavior has become compulsive, even out of control, hurtful to yourself or others, or continued despite negative consequences, I can provide treatment for effective change.
