Therapy is not about fixing what is "broken". It is similar to kintsugi- the Japanese art of repairing cracked pottery with gold. I have a Bachelors of Fine Art (BFA) with a double major in Psychology from Alma College. I earned my Master in Social Work (LMSW) from Wayne State University in 2008. I am also a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) and an NASW member.
I work with people managing mental health and substance use concerns, including those navigating legal situations. My approach is client centered and flexible, using a range of therapeutic modalities (including DBT) to fit each person's needs and goals. I am also trained in EMDR.
