Before going into private practice, I was a Clinical Manager at Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC. After the September 11th attacks, I was retained by major corporations to provide counseling to employees suffering from trauma. In 1993, I co-founded the NYC Balkan Rape Crisis Task Force and traveled to Croatia to provide assistance to war survivors. In addition to my work experience, I have extensive post-graduate training... I have a Certificate from the Women's Therapy Centre Institute in Eating and Body Image Problems and from the Center for Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis of New Jersey in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy.
My treatment approach is diverse and flexible. I provide both brief/goal oriented and long-term therapy based on each person's issues and how they express wanting to be helped. I draw on the strengths of each client individually to help alleviate symptoms and improve the quality and fulfillment of one's life.
I enjoy working with individuals on a range of issues such as, but not limited to anxiety, stress, depression, eating and body image problems, transitions throughout the life cycle, relationship concerns, career changes and challenges. Some of my Professional Affiliations include: The National Association of Social Workers and the NJ Association of Women's Therapists.
