As a licensed clinical psychologist, my primary goal is to foster a safe and non-judgmental environment where you feel heard and understood. I will work with you and/or your child to build a collaborative partnership, regardless of what brings you to treatment. The therapeutic relationship ultimately serves as the foundation to deepen your understanding of relationships, behaviors, and thought patterns, as well as develop healthy coping strategies and insight. We will work together to help you invest in your strengths, while shifting away from patterns that no longer serve you.
My work with clients focuses on the here-and-now, although in many cases it can be helpful to understand how current issues developed from past experiences. My approach is tailored to whom I'm working with, as every client presents with a unique story. I often couple exploratory work with concrete skills and techniques informed by CBT and DBT.
It can feel like a big step to begin therapy. Ultimately, the most important part of treatment is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. If you are interested in connecting to see if we might be a good fit, please do not hesitate to reach out.
