I believe that choosing to engage in therapy is one of the bravest acts that one can do for themselves. It requires a person to acknowledge and confront potentially painful experiences and negative core beliefs that can have become foundational. Therapy can help to establish a healthier foundation. I strive to develop a therapeutic relationship by cultivating collaboration, encouraging vulnerability, challenging avoidance, and acknowledging how difficult all of this can be to navigate. I view myself, and the therapy space, as a container in which to foster change and I approach every client with empathy, curiosity and compassion.
I approach therapy from a trauma focused lens and support clients in addressing how previous life experiences impact current functioning. I have received training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Sensorimotor, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Attachment Based Family Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
