I specialize in concerns related to relationships, complex relational trauma and acute trauma, stigma and marginalization, family of origin issues, sexuality and gender identity, religious trauma and religious deconstruction, body image and eating, perfectionism, and grief. I offer collaborative, empathic conversations that support you in developing insight into relationship patterns, healing from traumatic experiences and loss, understanding how your past affects your present, exploring questions related to identity, deepening self-awareness, and integrating your new insights and skills to create meaningful change in your life.
Problems are situated in historical, cultural, and political contexts, not inside of people. I draw from a multidisciplinary set of ideas, including feminist studies, liberation psychology, narrative therapy and queer theory. While problems often feel isolating, these perspectives help us move toward building connection and solidarity with others.
Therapy is a way to do a close reading of your life — take interest in the details, draw new meanings, and develop multiple points of view. I offer close listening, intentional curiosity, and persistent interest in understanding what you are struggling with, or what matters deeply to you. If you're interested in working together, don't hesitate to reach out.
